The Cane Toad, whose scientific name is the Bufo Marinus, was introduced intentionally to help eradicate beetles that were eating and destroying sugar cane crops. Cane Toads were first introduced in the year 1935 into Northern Queensland. They were introduced by Reginald Montgomery, who went to Hawaii and captured a few Cane Toads. They can be found in every single state. The largest population of Cane Toads are found in Brisbane and New South Wales. There are approximately 200 million Cane Toads in Australia.
